West Ham United’s success this season relies very heavily on manager Graham Potter and captain Jarrod Bowen.
While a lot of people will argue the most important people to a football team are the manager and the captain, there aren’t many cases of it being more true than at West Ham United this season.
Despite not being given too much money to spend so far, the West Ham board has backed Graham Potter this season. They’re letting him try to stamp his mark on the team with a shift in mentality, sign some of the players he wants, and trying sell the players he doesn’t want.
This means it must work out for Potter this season, and we need to thoroughly improve on last season, or we could really be in trouble. If it does work out for the Hammers this season, it will likely be due to a huge contribution from our captain, Jarrod Bowen. Also, if it doesn’t work out, if we manage to stay in the Premier League, that too will probably be down to our captain.
Jarrod Bowen was involved in 46% of West Ham United’s goals in the Premier League. This shows how poor the rest of the team was, but also how good Jarrod Bowen is; he is undoubtedly one of the best players in the Premier League.
Every single West Ham fan is hoping Graham Potter can get his positive ideas across to the players so we can improve a lot from last season, and that Jarrod Bowen’s incredible form can continue and he can link up with the other attacking players to make it a much more entertaining campaign.
