West Ham want to sign Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado to help solve their midfield problems.

The midfield problem at West Ham somehow hasn’t been sorted out with just ten days till the transfer window closes, and the board have adopted their scatter-gun approach.

The board have made offers for four midfielders with more expected to follow, one of those four midfielders is Marc Casado. We have reportedly made an offer around his €30m price tag.

Casado is very highly rated at the Nou Camp, however, Barcelona have some of the best midfielders in the world so he’s struggling for consistent game time. Also, Barcelona have some financial issues and are still struggling to register new signings, so a sale would allow them to do that.

It has been reported that Barcelona would accept a €30m offer for the 21-year-old Spain international. The Hammers face competition from Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis and fellow Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Casado would be a very good signing for West Ham, the strongest part of his game is his passing which would really benefit our midfield, he’d bring some calmness and creativity to our midfield, which we really need.

However, what our midfield needs more that anything is power and legs, so if Casado is our only signing, it wouldn’t completely change our midfield, and that exactly what we need to do.

Casado alongside a player with more physical attributes would be ideal. The perfect and most affordable option would be Ngal’ayel Mukau of Lille, who is said to be available for £17m, Those two alongside Lucas Paqueta in midfield would completely turn our team around.

However, with how the window is going so far and the owners pleading poverty, I am only expecting us to sign one midfielder, even with Edson Alvarez leaving on loan, so if that is the case, we need to focus on signing a player with the profile of Mukau, rather than Casado.
