Jarrod Bowen’s altercation with a fan in the crowd after Wolves loss highlights the current state of affairs at West Ham.

After losing 3-2 to Wolverhampton Wanderers in dramatic fashion, the players’ tempers were rightly flared after a humiliating loss, but Jarrod Bowen took it too far.

The Hammers captain confronted a fan who was giving him and the team stick as he was clapping the travelling supporters, and he would have gone into the stands had it not been for Soucek, Areola, and Aguerd stepping in to stop him.

Some fans were also not happy as the 28-year-old angrily took off the captain’s armband as he stormed off the pitch.

This has divided the fanbase even more than it already was. Some believe he was right to do this, and it’s good to see him show some passion after seeing none of it on the pitch.

However, some also believe his actions are not acceptable and that it shows Bowen isn’t captain material, again highlighting that we’re lacking leaders after letting go of Lukasz Fabianski and Aaron Cresswell.

Whatever your opinion on it, every West Ham fan knows the club is an absolute mess at the moment, and this has only made matters worse.

We’re undoubtedly going to make a few signings over the next couple of days, but I don’t think that will even come close to solving the problems at the club.

But hopefully it is enough to sort us out on the pitch because this can’t go on for much longer, or we really will be in relegation trouble, especially if we persist with Graham Potter.
