West Ham want to hire a manager with West Ham or Premier League experience if Graham Potter is sacked.

After a disastrous start to the season, West Ham manager is already in serious danger of losing his job over the next few weeks, and Hammers directors have reportedly already began identifying potential replacements for the former Brighton head coach.

The clubs hierarchy have decided he will be in charge for the Forest match even after an embarrassing crumble away at Wolves in the Carabao Cup, and they will back him in the last few days of the transfer window. However, a heavy defeat and defeats to Spurs and Crystal Palace after the international break will likely make David Sullivan pull the trigger.

GMS sources say that Potter, who has steered West Ham to just five wins from 22 competitive fixtures in charge, was already under pressure before the campaign got underway and the lack of form has led to there being increasing amounts of friction behind the scenes.

The same source have been told that the Hammers preference in replacing Potter will be someone with Premier League experience or a manager that already has an attachment to the club.

This immediately points at Sean Dyche, a manager with bags of Premier League experience and known for his excellent job with Burnley. Former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic could also be an option, Slaven Bilic’s former assistant at West Ham has been linked with the job previously.
