West Ham hope to complete the signing of Soungoutou Magassa today, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update on the situation.
It was reported by Ex yesterday that the player has undertaken his medical, however there was a slight issue however the club have been keen to stress that it wasn’t anything to be concerned over.
This was also coupled with the news emerging in the media that Eintracht Frankfurt had made a late move to sign the player, which Ex also advised was the case via an agent. However, the club again feel this isn’t a worry and expect to complete the signing.
“The club still remain hopeful that Magassa will complete his move today,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon. “They do not believe he will change his mind for Frankfurt (despite a top agent trying to make that happen) and that all going to plan the deal should be confirmed.
“The issue with the medical is said to be minor and nothing to worry about.”
Our insider has also provided an update on our late move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré, whilst also exclusively advising that the club have been offered an opportunity by agents to sign long-term player of interest Victor Boniface.
“Nottingham Forest have rejected our initial loan offering for Ibrahim Sangaré,” stated Ex. “They want to ideally sell the player or have a loan deal with an obligation to buy.
“It is thought that a number of forwards have been offered to the club by agents at the last minute and one that has been given some consideration. That player is regular target Victor Boniface.
“The Nigerian has been regularly reported as a target in recent years and he became that again after he failed a move to Milan because of a medical. West Ham had considered taking a gamble on him despite his serious knee injuries.
“Despite his injuries the player has scored regularly in the German league and the same was said of Demba Ba before he joined us. It does seem however that the club for now will resist the temptation but we will let you know if this changes.”
Ex has also reported that the club have in fact returned to try and resurrect a deal to sign goalkeeper John Victor from Botafogo.
“We also confirmed earlier that we did infact make a loan approach to Botafogo for John Victor,” added Ex. “It appears that the Brazilian club do not want to deal with us as expected over our conduct last time. It remains to be seen whether things will progress.”
