There is a real possibility that West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta could leave the club before the transfer window closes on Monday.
Graham Potter’s side has become a lot more active in the past couple of days, with the club wrapping up deals for Matheus Fernandes and Soungoutou Magassa in the past 12 hours.
However, with a couple more incomings expected before Monday’s deadline, West Ham could still lose yet another one of their star players as Lucas Paqueta is being linked with a move away.
Talk of the Brazilian’s exit has been heated up since being cleared of spot fixing. Clubs in Brazil, Saudi Arabia, and England have all been linked with the 28-year-old.
A move to Spurs looked the most likely at the start of the week; however, they have accelerated ahead with a move for RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, who completed his £51m move to North London this afternoon.
A move to David Moyes’ Everton was also suggested; however, it seems like there is a real possibility Aston Villa could be the first side to make a serious offer for the Brazilian international this summer.
Villa, like West Ham, have had to restrict their spending because of PSR. However, Villa could sell Morgan Rogers in the next three days, and Paqueta would reportedly be Unai Emery’s top choice to replace the England International.
