West Ham Women have announced the departure of the club’s assistant manager Rick Passmoor, who leaves West Ham after two seasons working alongside manager Rehanne Skinner, having joined the club in September 2023.

A vastly experienced coach, Passmoor’s previous positions include managing both Notts County as well as Leeds United in two separate spells. Passmoor has played his part in the Hammers steady progress West Ham have made in the last couple of seasons.

The 2023/24 season saw West Ham finish 11th in the WSL. Last season, the Hammers bettered this and finished 9th and could arguably have ended the campaign in an even better position. As well as their 9th placed finish Rehanne Skinner’s side broke a number of club records, including most home wins alongside their highest points tally in the WSL.

After the news of Passmoor’s departure was announced, manager Rehanne Skinner was full of praise for her colleague and his contribution to the improvement the Hammers have made in the past two seasons.

Skinner discussed how Passmoor’s “experience, energy and positivity” had played a key role in the strides made by West Ham women, adding how it had been a pleasure to work alongside him during a “record breaking campaign” for the club.

The former Notts County and Leeds manager described leaving West Ham as a “tough decision” but as the right one for his family. He discussed his time at the club fondly, describing how it was defined by the people around him, including the staff across the club as well as the players he coached.

Passmoor gave special thanks to Rehanne Skinner for allowing him to be part of the project at West Ham, he was also full of praise for the club’s supporters, their passion, how much they back the team, and their dedication to following West Ham both home and away.

Passmoor signed off his message to the Hammers faithful on the clubs Official Website, with the words “Once a Hammer, always a Hammer”, but attention has quickly turned towards the next step of his coaching career with reports suggesting he is set to become the interim manager at Leicester City.
