West Ham United’s Crysencio Summerville has the perfect opportunity to shine for West Ham after an electric performance against Nottingham Forest last weekend.
The 23-year-old winger has all the qualities West Ham have been missing on the left side since his injury. His pace, trickery, directness and the fact he is right footed will really help balance the teams attack out.
The Dutchman came on in the 82nd minute and just two minutes later he set up the captain Jarrod Bowen to give us the lead. And just a couple of minutes after that he was brought down in the box and Paqueta gave us a two goal lead from the spot.
His link-up out on the left with Malick Diouf was a key part in Callum Wilson’s goal and is a sign of exciting things to come down the wing if Summerville can stay fit.
Not only that, his return to the team means there should be a permanent switch in formation. We played a 4-2-3-1 against Forest and when Summerville came on he slotted perfectly into the left-wing position.
We are all hoping we don’t switch back to a back five after such an inspired performance with the four against Forest and that we just swap Summerville in for Ward-Prowse against Tottenham. This would require moving Matheus Fernandes into midfield alongside Paqueta and Soucek or even Magassa, and that would be very exciting.
