West Ham’s new Portuguese link up could take the Premier League by storm.

It may have taken nearly two years, four different managers, and a lot of frustration, but West Ham fans finally seem fairly united behind a positive manager. Obviously, it’s just one game, but that sort of performance away to Everton after just a couple of days can only be a positive sign.

Although Nuno speaks great English, it’s often vital they have a player or two who they can relate to and communicate with in their native language, a relationship which can only benefit the man on the pitch too.

Matheus Fernandes has been a great addition to the Hammers’ squad so far, providing some much needed mobility, strong passing, and ball carrying. He may have displayed all of this under Potter, but playing as a transitional player in Nuno’s counter-attacking system could get the best out of the midfielder.
