Nuno Espirito Santo is showing signs as being the real deal when it comes to promoting Academy players.

That is the view of The West Ham Way Podcast host Dave Walker, who is excited by the early signs seen under the new Hammers boss, after he replaced Graham Potter who was sacked last weekend.

It was Nuno’s first game in charge and there were so many positives to take from the performance and too what the manager did in terms of team selection.

The obvious was seeing James Ward-Prowse dropped, which many would agree has been needed for a long time. However, how refreshing was it to see Freddie Potts finally get his chance this season? I think he did really well and to get the nod from the new boss was great to see.

Let’s hope we finally have the boss that is going to start taking our Academy players seriously and restore hope that if you perform well at that level, then opportunities will be there.
