Nuno must drop failing forward if he wants to succeed.
It’s not taken long for Nuno to pretty much settle on a starting XI it seems. The only chance between his two games was the returning Wan-Bissaka for Walker-Peters.
However, there’s one change he desperately needs to make and that’s the striker. While Nicolas Fullkrug is a great character, dedicated, and hard working, he simply isn’t built for the Premier League.
The German is slow, predictable, and too old to be starting games for a team like West Ham.
Every single time he’s played it’s impossible to see how the Hammers wouldn’t be better off with literally anyone else up top,
Callum Wilson, for example, at least has the movement required of a striker, even if he doesn’t have the pace. Even Callum Marshall, the youngster who made his first Premier League appearance against Arsenal, would surely offer more.
Nuno has been quick to sideline players like Ward-Prowse who he doesn’t believe is good enough, surely he has to do the same with Fullkrug sooner rather than later.
