West Ham must prioritise bringing in a new striker in the upcoming January transfer window.

That is the view of The West Ham Way Podcast host Dave Walker, who says that although we have Niclas Fullkrug as the current number one, he is not good enough to lead the line under Nuno.

This feels like a running theme that never ends at West Ham, where we are always on the lookout for a decent striker that suits what we are trying to do.

Despite his qualities, I am not comfortable with Fullkrug leading the line up top. I think on his day he’s a decent player, but he’s not mobile enough and is far too injury prone.

Callum Wilson is not much different, but personally for now I’d lead more with him and have Calum Marshall getting more of a chance – with a clear jump in energy when he plays, he has a desire to do well.

I say this constantly, but hopefully we see another striker come in during the next transfer window!
