Fulham winger Adama Traore has emerged as a potential January target for West Ham according to a report from Fichajes.
The Spanish international has plenty of experience in English football with more than 250 Premier League appearances to his name. Having joined Aston Villa in the summer of 2015, Traore went on to spend two years at Middlesbrough, five years at Wolves, and has been with current club Fulham since the summer of 2023.
Perhaps his most successful spell in the top flight came under new West Ham head coach Nuno Espirito Santo at Wolves. This included arguably his standout Premier League campaign which came during the 19/20 season where he registered 13 goal contributions for the West Midlands club.
Although the 29 year old can struggle for form and is inconsistent at times, his frightening pace, physical prowess, penetrating runs and crossing ability make him a nightmare for any defence and mean at his best he is still one of the most feared wingers in the Premier League.
It will come as no real surprise to supporters that the Hammers have been linked with a move for Traore. Nuno reportedly tried to sign the Spaniard while at Nottingham Forest. The report from Fichajes suggests Nuno has earmarked the Fulham man as a January target and is keen on reuniting with Traore in East London.
With goals hard to come by and defensive issues persisting, the Hammers will certainly be in the market for attacking reinforcements in the January transfer window. A potential move for Traore represents an interesting proposition, a winger with plenty of top flight experience and a player that knows Nuno very well.
Few players can cause a backline problems like Traore when he is in full flow. His explosive power would add an exciting new dimension to West Ham’s attack. The 29 year old has barely featured for Fulham so far this season, with his contract expiring next summer and his current market value around £7 million, the Hammers may well be able to land Traore for a cut price deal come January.
