New rule in Premier League could have massive effect for West Ham.
The lack of leaders in the West Ham changing room has been an issue for some time now. While it’s caused problems since Rice left, it’s gotten worse and worse.
Jarrod Bowen, to me, is a very capable captain. Not every captain needs to be constantly shouting and overly vocal. Some of the best captains are role models who lead by example. However, a new rule may make this argument less sound.
As we saw in the last Euros, only the captain of the side can now speak to the referee on the pitch. This means someone like Bowen, who isn’t the most outspoken, may not be the ideal choice in some’s views.
In reality though, has a player speaking to a referee ever really changed their mind? I struggle to think of a single time that’s happened.
