West Ham United have been linked with a move for Marseille star Mason Greenwood, but we should stay away from signing the England International.

Former Manchester United wondered and current Marseille talisman Mason Greenwood has been linked with a move to Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham today.

The quality of the player is undisputed, he’s been one of the best players in Ligue 1 over the past couple of years. The 24-year-old bagged 22 goals and 6 assists in 36 matches in all comps in France last season, and has continued his form into this season with 8 goals and 4 assists in just twelve matches.

This is exactly the quality of player we need to keep us up, he’d be like a Jesse Lingard type of player that did exactly that back in 2020. However, the only reason we’d have a chance of signing him is because no one wants to sign the attacker because of the PR disaster that would come with it, and that would finely be the right decision from the club.

Not only that, he would be out of our price range anyway, so the links don’t make any sense for that reason either. And that’s not even taking into consideration he plays in the same position as our star and captain Jarrod Bowen.

The shortage of players like Lingard on the market at the moment is worrying, I’m unsure who is going to come in in January to score the goals and help us and Nuno out of this mess.

The only attackers we’ve been linked to at the moment are Joshua Zirkzee and Adama Traore, these really aren’t players that are going to have the Lingard, Soucek or Tevez impact and keep us in the League.

Maybe, the best option might be to sign a quality central defender rather than a game-changing attacker, our biggest problem is the defence, so we should focus our time and money on signing a player like Alexsandro of Lille or even Harry Maguire from Manchester United.
