West Ham are set to take on Newcastle at the 14:00 Super Sunday slot, the Hammers will be hoping for a super result, but considering the recent form, that prospect is becoming slimmer and slimmer each week.

However, as Football goes onwards, the Hammers hope! There’s always still a chance that we could get a result but this is only going to be achieved IF Nuno can get the team selection right. He admitted in a press conference Yesterday that “I would have liked to have found a solution earlier, and stuck to it. We have to find a solution, because it’s not been working.”

Whilst understanding the severity of the problem is stage one to getting over it, the biggest problem we face is ourselves being our worst own enemy and without a well-working squad of 11 players, we don’t stand a chance!

This game is utterly crucial for the players, for the fans and for our Premier League survival hopes, a gap of 4 points has already emerged between us and safety. Unfortunately, depending on the results this weekend, it could extend to a 7-point gap, meaning it’s crucial to take something from this game.

A few said it was a six-pointer against Brentford and a majority said it was a six-pointer against Leeds. You’d get the feeling that this is seeming like yet another six-pointer, which against Newcastle, is a tough, tough ask.

You’d have to go all the way back to 2019 to see where West Ham would’ve last beaten Newcastle at home, so that puts it into proportion of how much we tend to struggle against the Geordies.

Though to provide a positive spin, Newcastle’s last away win in the Premier League was around six months ago, which was against Leicester, but to counteract that, West Ham’s last home win was seven months ago, which was also against Leicester.

Someone’s record will be broken come Sunday… and if it’s a point shared to keep the records, I’d be overjoyed with it.
