Callum Wilson may be the most underrated player at West Ham.
The signing of Callum Wilson was met with much frustration from West Ham fans. It was seen as lazy, cheap, but what was most annoying was that it was yet another signing that benefited a certain agent.
However, despite a lack of goals, you have to say that Wilson is proving to be a very useful asset. In a time where the Hammers are desperate for an outlet up top, he provides that. His ability to drag out defenders, his tricky movement, and his work rates mean he is able to open up space for other attackers.
What we need this season is an experienced Premier League striker who will score goals. Based on how he’s played so far, Wilson will definitely get a few over the course of the campaign (providing that he stays fit). He’s that old school striker who Nuno loves, hopefully the Englishman can earn his wage this season and start converting the chances he gets.
