West Ham’s board must not let two consecutive wins fog their vision of backing Nuno.
When Nuno first arrived in East London, it was said he’d receive significant financial backing in the January transfer window. It was believed that the Hammers’ only real chance of staying up was by bringing quality players.
However, back-to-back wins may have already changed David Sullivan’s mind. According to reports, he may once again pull the ‘we must sell to buy’ trump card.
As much as he can try and stick by it, there’s no way that every financial expert in the sport can say this isn’t the case and all be wrong. The money is there to be spent, and if the board don’t then the club will end up relegated; it’s as simple as that.
If they aren’t willing to put in the money, then what good is it if they own the club? The message is clear from fans: pay up or sell up, but it seems more likely that they’ll do neither.
