West Ham are in the process of identifying key targets ahead of the January transfer window, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update on the current state of play.
Pressure is very much on the club to deliver in the new year, with West Ham in the midst of a relegation battle and one which appears far more competitive than recent seasons.
It’s been advised by Ex that Nuno Espírito Santo is prioritising a new striker, centre back and midfielder, with a number of existing players in line to depart.
Reporting on The West Ham Way Podcast, club insider Ex has reported that domestic players are seen as top of the wish list, with Charlie Cresswell of Toulouse a player highly admired.
“The priorities in January are a striker, midfielder and defender for Nuno,” stated Ex.
“Domestic players are something we seriously looking at, with Charlie Cresswell falling into that bracket. We were close to signing him in the summer and it appears we are looking to reignite those talks.
“He’s a player who has the attributes that Nuno wants.”
Ex has also advised that Adama Traore is a player that Nuno admires having worked wit him previously at Wolves.
“Traore is a player that Nuno wants and with his price tag likely to be quite reasonable.”
James Garner of Everton is also a player of interest at this stage.
Although domestic is seen as our target market, the club are looking abroad also too, with Ex advising on players we are scouting ahead of the window opening in 6 weeks.
“The club are still very much looking at Franculino Djú of Midtjylland and Lucas Stassin, as we have reported on previously.
“Another player of interest is Union SG & Canadian international Promise David, who currently Belgian Pro League.
“I can also report that we are showing interest in Club Brugge duo Romeo Vermant & Joel Ordóñez..
