West Ham United defender Jean-Clair Todibo has gone from zero to hero in just a matter of weeks, his good performances continued against Brighton.
Just a few weeks ago there were Hammers fans that never wanted to see Todibo in a West Ham shirt ever again, he was that poor. He looked disinterested, couldn’t win a header and to honest, he couldn’t defend at all. In fact, most fans thought he was worse than Max Kilman and that’s saying something.
But since Nuno has come in, he has completely helped change the Frenchman’s fortunes around. Not only does Todibo look like a proper centre back now, he’s actually been excellent.
When Mavropanos was out, our Portuguese manager decided to bring in Todibo, but play him on what should be the ‘less comfortable’ left side because he’s right footed. However, it’s already proven to be his best position because he’s been good in every game since, phenomenal in some.
Yes our defence as a whole still isn’t amazing but having a centre back as good as Todibo has been recently covers for some of our defences deficiencies and it’s brilliant to see. It kind of feels like when we had Winston Reid at the back, I know its early and he’s absolutely nowhere near Reid, but it’s great to see.
