West Ham may have found this missing piece to the puzzle of their midfield.
Since the departure of Declan Rice, West Ham never really have looked comfortable in the middle of the park. It’s been a major issue which has really caused the downfall of multiple managers.
Fortunately, Nuno seems to have finally cracked the code with Freddie Potts who has done an excellent job of protecting the defence. Alongside him, Matty Fernandes has been a revelation at progressing from the back to attack:
However, it seems like the Hammers have scored a hat trick of young midfielders who could be the future of this club with Soungoutou Magassa.
The 22-year-old Frenchman has finally started to get some consistent minutes in recent weeks, and he’s certainly proven his worth.
His performance against Manchester United was an absolute masterclass, and he capped it off with his first goal for the club.
To say he was everywhere would be an understatement. It felt like he covered every blade of grass; that fight, desire, and determination could be key in a relegation battle.
Admittedly, his passing and decision making leave a little to be deserved, not to mention his discipline, but these will come in time. No doubt, West Ham United have a serious player on their hands.
