West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen has been on the receiving end of a lot of criticism in recent weeks, but he’s proven the doubters wrong vs Brighton.

Jarrod Bowen has felt the criticism of West Ham fans for probably the first ever time in the last few matches, his performances dropped and he was called out for his lack of leadership when Paqueta was sent off against Liverpool.

The backlash about Bowen was mainly from his performances against Bournemouth and Liverpool, there were fans that wanted our captain to be dropped and even stopped off the captaincy.

Both of these were absolutely crazy, and he’s already proven them completely wrong. He was excellent at Old Trafford on Thursday, despite not scoring he was a constant threat to the Red Devils defence and got an assist for Magassa’s equaliser.

But it was today against Brighton where he really showed us what Jarrod Bowen is all about – he’s tireless, hard-working, talented and leads by example. He almost scored an excellent individual goal but the Brighton keeper made a great save, before making an even better one from Summerville on the rebound.

But he scored something even better, he latched onto what was a poor pass from Callum Wilson and scored from an almost impossible angle. The only way that goal could’ve happened would be if Bowen did exactly what he did – he hit it perfectly.

Jarrod Bowen isn’t perfect – if he was he wouldn’t be at West Ham. But what he is is an absolute her, he’s a club legend. He’s my favourite ever West Ham player and I’m sure that’s the case for a lot of Hammers fans.

The fact there is West Ham fans out there that want to criticise Bowen is crazy. Never doubt Jarrod Bowen.
