A draw away at Brighton must be seen as a positive result, but in the context of the game, Nuno & the players deserved all 3 points.
That is the shared view of both The West Ham Way Podcast hosts Dave Walker & ExWHUEmployee, who were speaking after Brighton grabbed a 91sr minute leveller, following an robust and positive performance again from West Ham.
“I thought is was a good performance that displayed a lot of team spirit,” stated Walker. “Ultimately it’s a good point away from home but I just wish we could show enough bravery to kill games off when we take the lead.
“It’s another point that is tinged with frustration for me.”
Ex agreed with his co host and pointed towards the decision not to rule out the Seagulls late goal, with many question marks in the build up, which was felt by many to be harsh on a West Ham side that worked so hard throughout.
“I thought it was a good result yesterday,” added Ex. “I was surprised with the team selection dropping Potts and especially Magassa after his brilliant display at Manchester United but the bold move by Nuno.
“That goal should never have stood because of the high boot on Mavropanos and he has been punished for being too honest! The handball whether it’s the right decision and by the letter of the law it seems to be but is a ridiculous rule too.
“Once more we leave an away game where I would have been happy with a point before thinking we actually deserved all 3.”
