West Ham are in talks with targets with ExWHUEmployee providing an update on the currently state of play ahead of the January transfer window.
As was reported exclusively on The West Ham Way Patreon previously, the club and Nuno have prioritised domestic based strikers as we look to replace Niclas Fullkrug, with a high expectation he will leave in the new year.
“It is thought that we have a strong interest in Hadji Wright of Coventry City,” stated Ex. “The USA international has been a big hit since joining the club from Turkey and also has the physical profile that Nuno likes.
@His teammate Ellis Simms is someone we have also tracked, but it is felt that the American offers more pedigree to make it in the top division.
“The other domestic forward that is also on the radar is another American international, Josh Sargent, at Norwich City.
“The forward is currently out injured at the moment, but this isn’t expected to be a long-term injury as it’s part of the concussion protocol.
“He has 51 goals in 140 league appearances for the Canaries. Both Wright and Sargent are said to be valued at around £20m, and it is believed that Karen Brady has already begun negotiations to see whether any progress can be made.”
It is understood there is still very strong interest in Adama Traore of Fulham, with Nuno keen to link up with the powerful winger following their days at Wolves together.
It is now thought that other positions will not be prioritised in the window at this stage, although there is strong interest in Charlie Cresswell, should we decide to make a move.
