Nuno Espírito Santo on numerous occasions at a variety of clubs, has always expressed interest in signing Adama Traore, and it appears he may be edging closer.
At Nottingham Forest, Nuno attempted to sign Adama Traore, but the board refused, and from that moment on, it began the downward spiral of disagreement, which subsequently would lead to his eventual sacking that took place.
However, it appears that at West Ham, he might be getting his way. The Spanish forward has around 6 months left of his contract, which means he’s currently available on a free in the summer, but Nuno is desperate to secure his signature in January.
According to David Ornstein, West Ham could be coming in with an offer for Adama Traore. While Claret and Hugh are reporting Traore is edging closer to a move across London.
This could be a perfect signing for West Ham at the moment. People often claim with a new signing, “he needs a bit of time before they turn good,” but in this case, Adama Traore will just click into the team and become the powerhouse that Nuno understands he is.
If there’s any player on this planet that Nuno could use to the absolute fullest, it would be Adama Traore. We just need to play our cards right and ensure that Fulham don’t ‘rob’ us of the fee that they want, given his current contract. You’d suspect a deal could be concluded for under £8 million, but all will soon be told and revealed.
Whilst times may have moved on, it is worth noting that back in the day David Sullivan used to operate in a way that each manager, upon arriving at West Ham, would be given a ‘gift’ and they could sign their number one target that they wanted, in order to try get the ball rolling, it appears that under Bilic it was Payet, for Lopetegui it was Kilman and for Potter it was Ferguson… maybe now it’s time for Nuno to have Traore.
The Hammers will face Fulham this Saturday and it will be interesting to see if he plays against us, with Harry Wilson’s injury it might be likely. It would be typical West Ham fashion for him to score the winner against us, pushing us even further from safety.
Regardless, if we can make it happen, signing Adama Traore would be a bit of brilliant business, and he could seriously offer a whole other world of impact in comparison to what we currently have. I’d personally love to see this deal get over the line.
