The Hammers have identified the Czech League once again to drag them out of the hole when needed and have identified three targets that may be of interest.
There’s certainly nothing wrong with signing targets from abroad, given that they’re talented, there’s been a handful of players that have bitten us from signing the wrong profile a handful of times, and we just have to ensure that it doesn’t come to that once again, especially in this dire moment.
The first name of consideration is Viktoria Plzen’s forward Rafiu Durosinmi. The 22, nearly 23-year-old Nigerian has shown talent as he’s scored 7 goals across the 18 games that have been played so far, his stance as a forward offers a target man style, hence the interest we hold in him.
It does appear that the club are targeting a more underrated and unknown style approach, which many have been calling out for, given the amount of ‘named talent’ we sign that ultiamtely end’s up being a dead end.
The second target comes under the name of Albion Rrahmani, who is 25. He is a centre forward who’s both footed and comes in around 6’1, playing for Sparta Prague. This season, in all comps, he’s played a total of 31 matches, achieving a total of 14 G/A, subsequently translating to a G/A every 151 minutes.
Last, but not least, our final and evidently favourite club to do business with in Slavia Prague has a forward called Mojmír Chytil, who we’re interested in. He is a forward but someone who can also play in a deeper role, which may be one of the reasons why we’re targeting him, and so far has played 22 games and gotten 8 goals, averaging a goal every 130 minutes. He doesn’t offer the target man role that Nuno aspires for, but certainly offers more in other areas.
From looking at just these couple of targets, it’s easy to understand and conclude what style of business we’ll be targeting. All of these players are worth less than £10 million and could become cheaper pickups that develop into big names, and worst comes to worst, if they don’t turn out well, then you’ve not wasted a fortune and damage limitation is already in place.
I personally would be most interested in Albion Rrahmani, given his G/A achieved this season, and in how many appearances he’s done that in. He seems a forward that could potentially work in our squad, besides, it doesn’t harm having someone who’s two-footed either!
