West Ham’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka and El Hadji Malick Diouf are set to face off tomorrow as DR Congo take on Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Hammers duo are currently away at AFCON, and their nations enjoyed positive starts to the tournament.
Wan-Bissaka’s DR Congo side edged past Benin 1-0, with former West Ham full-back Arthur Masuaku assisting winger Théo Bongonda for the winning goal. Wan-Bissaka played the full 90 minutes in Rabat.
Meanwhile, Diouf’s Senegal cruised to a 3-0 victory over Botswana on Tuesday. Bayern Munich striker Nicolas Jackson scored twice as the 2021 champions began their campaign in convincing fashion. However, unlike Wan-Bissaka, Diouf did not feature in the matchday squad.
The two nations meet tomorrow at 3pm — coinciding with West Ham’s must-win Premier League clash against Fulham at London Stadium.
The absence of the Hammers’ first-choice full-back pairing was keenly felt in Saturday’s defeat to Manchester City. City winger Rayan Cherki tormented Ollie Scarles, who was making his first appearance after a two-month absence before being forced off through injury once again.
Given that Diouf wasn’t even named in Senegal’s squad for their opener, his continued absence from the West Ham side is all the more frustrating for Hammers supporters.
Wan-Bissaka, who switched international allegiance from England to DR Congo last summer, is expected to start again in Tangier tomorrow.
It would have been intriguing to see him come up against his club teammate — Diouf’s blistering pace against Wan-Bissaka’s elite one-on-one defending would have made for a fascinating duel.
However, with Diouf seemingly down the pecking order for Senegal, the chances of that matchup materialising appear slim.
In the meantime, West Ham must cope without both players. Youngster Ezra Mayers could be handed a start at left-back against Fulham, while Kyle Walker-Peters is expected to deputise once again for Wan-Bissaka on the right, as he did last weekend.
Both matches kick off at 3pm tomorrow
