West Ham is a toxic environment with the reaction to Ollie Scarles’ error highlighting this issue.
That is the view of The West Ham Way Podcast co-host and club insider ExWHUEmployee, who was speaking after the fallout of the loss to Fulham that leaves the club in relegation mire.
“The reaction to Scarles yesterday in my opinion was disgusting from some of the fanbase and unfortunately is an indicator of how toxic things have become,” said Ex.
“Yes, it was a bad mistake but had our forwards taken some of the 12 chances that were created it wouldn’t have been an issue.
“Ollie was playing well up till that point and yet he is the one who has been dug out and not some of the senior pros. Also it was disappointing to see none of them supporting Ollie after the match too aside from a couple.
“There seems to be an over eagerness to dig out our players at times. Magassa missed the ball at the other end when he could have scored and other defenders have made mistakes throughout the season.
“Thankfully for Scarles we have a game on Tuesday so he can quickly put things right.”
