According to a lot of West Ham’s top sources, Adama Traore looks set to become a West Ham player this month
It appears that Nuno Espírito Santo is going to finally get his man, after three failed previous attempts, the Hammers seem happy to make a move for the Spaniard and given that he’s got 6 months left on his contract, it appears we could conclude a deal on the cheaper side of the scale with Fulham officials anticipating a deal to be concluded around the region of around £3million.
Whilst some are quick to criticise Traore due to his clinical ability, there’s a reason as to why Nuno wants him and it’s much more than just a random signing.
Against Brighton, we looked towards our bench, brought Summerville on and from then on, who else could’ve made an attacking impact? That’s the reason for our high interest in Adama Traore, someone who can come on, make an impact and simply run into a good position… he certainly wouldn’t be the first player to learn how to be clinical, sometimes players work just under specific managers and he hasn’t had an outing with Nuno since Wolves where he was impactful and clinical, it’s best to reserve our judgements.
Bringing in proven players that provide squad depth and someone whom the manager wants for just around £5 million is unheard of in this market. Let’s not forget that Nuno at Nottingham Forest was denied the opportunity to sign Adama Traore, as well as many others, which eventually resulted in his departure from the club. He’s exactly one of the forwards that we should aspire to have.
I believe many fans worried that signing Adama Traore would mean we wouldn’t end up with a striker and that would be Nuno’s only ‘gift’, but it appears that the deal for Pablo will be concluded before Traore, and that would mean two forwards could be signed before the beginning of the second week of January, unheard of! Did you know that the last time West Ham signed two players in January was half a decade ago, back in the 20/21 season!
It’s positive to see that we’re looking to bolster the squad as quickly as possible, but it is seriously required given the number of players needed. However, Adama Traore could certainly help us much more than fans anticipate.
