Raheem Sterling’s name has resurfaced and the forward has been rumoured to aim for a move away this window, yet the deal has a handful of complications.
Whilst Raheem Sterling is a big name in Football and when you think of him, you remember his glory days and how successful he was at Manchester City, but that is no longer, in the recent years he has spent his time collecting an immense wage in the Chelsea bench, and has a brief loan spell which would be deserved as a 4/10 at best, he simply has proved he’s not good enough.
The forward is suspected to be earning around £300,000 per week, and obviously, that explains all in all why it’s been difficult for him to secure a move. I suppose that you can’t have it all! The clubs that are interested in him are no longer the top; he’s now looking at the likes of Fulham and West Ham, where the wages are much different. He’s aiming for a permanent deal in which he’ll have to settle for the wage of around £80,000, and that’s being generous…
Nuno appears to like the idea of signing Sterling on a loan and also would like Adama Traore, who, in my opinion, would be a far better forward value for money-wise, and Traore has at least been playing! Whilst Sterling has just been left to rot in the reserves, which is partly his fault due to his rejection of numerous clubs in the summer because of the ‘wages offered’ and how they weren’t substantial enough.
Personally, if we look past the wages, I still don’t believe that he offers what would be idolised and we need in the squad. He does provide a massive amount of experience and a winning mentality if you can get him up to speed, but it’s a risk and not necessarily one we can afford to take at this moment in time.
It would be nice to have two right-sided wingers whom we can move around and substitute, but Sterling is getting old, the move is too complicated, and the wages are ludicrous; we don’t want another Danny Ings 2.0!
