West Ham have all but signed two players with a third to follow soon, but will we now make another early move for a fourth?

West Ham have all but wrapped up deals for strikers Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe, with a move for Adama Traore set to follow in the coming days.

With the striker and winger positions sorted, there are other positions the Hammers need this month to boost their chances of survival. One of those is central defence.

The central defender West Ham and Nuno seem to be really keen on bringing to East London is Charlie Cresswell.

The former Leeds and Millwall defender currently plays in France for Toulouse. He’s been one of, if not the best player for Les Violets over the past eighteen months or so.

As mentioned in a lot of articles before, I believe he is the calm, no-nonsense, and old school defender this team is calling out for. Not only is he a great defender, he’s also a threat in the oppositions box, which we may need if our new strikers don’t hit the ground running.

The rumours are suggesting we will go after Cresswell after confirming the deals for Pablo and Castellanos. Those two and Adama will cost over £50m, so do we have enough money to a splash another £15-20m on another player.

Let’s hope so, signing the attackers is all well and good, and very needed. But a central defender in my opinion is needed more.

As a unit under Nuno we’ve really improved defensively. However, we keep conceding silly goals which is leading to us dropping points.

A lot of that is down to personnel. Todibo has been very good under Nuno, but it’s his partner we just can’t decide on.

The Portuguese manager seems to prefer Kilman over Mavropanos which to a lot of Hammers fans is crazy. Dinos is far from impressive, but he’s a whole lot more reliable than Kilman who keeps making mistakes, being clumsy and single-handedly costing us goals.

Bringing in Charlie Cresswell, a defender Nuno is reportedly very keen on bringing to the club is exactly what we need. He would take this debate away, he would start alongside Todibo and put both Kilman and Mavropanos on the bench, where I hope the stay.

Let’s hope the board continue to move quickly this month and we have Pablo, Castellanos, Traore and Cresswell in before the clash with QPR in the FA Cup next weekend and most importantly the massive six pointer against Nottingham Forest the weeknd after.
