Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paquetá is a late injury doubt to face Wolverhampton Wanderers at 3pm this afternoon.

After a mixed performance against Brighton on Thursday where he scored a goal, created a goal and gave away a silly penalty. Paquetá was certain to start out on the left this afternoon.

However, according to our very own ExWHUEmployee, Lucas Paquetá is a doubt to face Wolves today. This has thrown a real spanner in the works.

If he is out, it would mean Crysencio Summerville comes back into the starting eleven. While he hasn’t been in good form at all recently, he isn’t the worst replacement.

The bigger issue is on the bench. With no Paquetá in the squad and Summerville playing from the start, the bench will be missing a game changer.

Obviously new signing Pablo Felipe will likely be named on the bench, but other than that we don’t have anyone with pace, creativity or a great finisher. We will have Tomas Soucek who can pop up with important goals and young George Earthy, but the chances of them changing the game are incredibly low.

If Paquetá is out Summerville really has to step up, we have to start well and take the lead early because we cannot rely on our bench at all.

However, it will likely mean that we will get to see Pablo’s debut today just over 24 hours after he signed on the dotted line. Let’s hope we don’t have to rely on him to change the game.
