Max Kilman has consistently struggled with his time at West Ham so far, and as the weeks pass, it appears that the situation is worsening.

Some may say that it’s beginning to sound like a broken record each week, repetitively complaining at Kilman every match, but the truth is that it’s completely warranted given the performances that he puts in. He persistently starts for the Hammers and is one of the only centre-backs in the league who can get away with as many mistakes as he makes and still remain within the squad. Countless errors, schoolboy tackles and even whilst the Hammers may appear to be comfortable, it’ll be ruined by a moment of irrationality and the major off the time, it will be caused by Kilman.

Did you know that Max Kilman has conceded 35 goals in 17 Premier League appearances this season and conceded 96 goals in 55 appearances for West Ham in the Premier League… that is up there with one of the worst defensive records a defender can accumulate in the Premier League! That means this season, whilst he plays the Hammers average to concede just over 2 goals per game, totally and utterly unacceptable and a certainly bizarre statistic.

Against Wolves, his former club, the demonstration of poorly timed tackles and reactions were apparent, such as the build-up to Wolves’ penalty, which saw them double their lead. A delayed reaction towards receiving the ball, which puts Magassa in a vulnerable, risky position and results in a penalty.

It’s the offering to other teams across numerous fixtures which demonstrates how poor Kilman is and given that the Hammers paid a £40 million fee for the Englishman, there’s only so many other West Ham defenders who could be fathomed worse than Max Kilman and that seriously emphasises how poor the situation is with the club.
