West Ham midfielder Lucas Paquetá has received a lot of stick from fans this season.

The Brazilian midfielder has had a very up and down time at West Ham, mostly down. From the Conference League clinching assist, to the betting saga, to fans wanting him gone.

There are a lot of West Ham fans that want Lucas to leave the club, they don’t like his performances or his attitude.

However, we saw against Wolves how bad we are without him. We had no shots on target, we created no real chances. While he’s been disappointing he probably still is our best creative player, especially with Bowen off form.

After a goal and an assist against Brighton on Thursday night, we were all excited to see if he could continue his form against Wolves.

However, he failed a late fitness test which meant he wasn’t even fit enough to be named on the bench. He was reportedly suffering with a back injury which has been a problem on and off for a long time .

Considering he had a late fitness test, you would assume he’d be available for tomorrow night. I really hope he is because we need him out on the left, we need him to step up, we need him to show all of his potential and help us beat Nottingham Forest.

If he doesn’t play, we’re going to have to start pretty much the same team that got hammered at Wolves, and if we play in the same fashion again, we’re going to get absolutely destroyed.

Lucas Paquetá’s participation tomorrow night is crucial to our Premier League survival.
