West Ham handed massive Afcon boost with key player returning.
West Ham were always going to struggle a bit when Afcon hit. While, in all honesty, it’s hard to imagine either of them making a huge difference to the club’s form, Diouf and Wan-Bissaka are two big players for Nuno.
While Diouf’s Senegal are in the semi-finals, DRC have been sent home and Wan-Bissaka is already back in training.
Despite being Hammers of the year last season, ‘the spider’ has actually had a bit of a mixed bag campaign. Kyle Walker-Peters on the other hand has been consistently solid. Fortunately, the latter is equally as good at left-back, so there’s the opportunity to play both.
In all honesty, it’s Diouf that’s really been missed. He may not be the best defensively, but he can put in the best cross out of anyone in the squad. It’ll be really interesting to see how someone who, apparently, is strong in the air like Taty manages to connect with the defender.
