Nuno Espírito Santo must win in what looks like a banana skin game for West Ham in the FA Cup today.
Our Hammers host Championship side QPR at the London Stadium in the 3 Ed round of the tournament today, knowing a win could prove the best tonic we need ahead of our clash against Spurs next weekend.
Speaking ahead of the game, The West Ham Way Podcast duo Dave Walker & ExWHUEmployee shared their thoughts, with Walker particularly worried about what could occur against the west Londoners this afternoon.
“This has got banana skin written all over it, especially with our current form and mindset,” stated Walker.
“A win would be nice to take into the Tottenham game but I’m a bit worried about this one.”
Ex shared his concerns, however the insider hopes that this could be the kickstart of something the club so desperately needs.
“Today is a strange game because it could prove to be a welcome positive distraction from the league form or compound further misery and add pressure to an under threat manager and squad,” said Ex.
“QPR are expected to bring 15k fans to the stadium (many of whom will be sitting on the wrong stand it seems) and so the atmosphere is expected to be passionate from their side.
“I hope we can perform and give us a good cup run as a positive distraction from a terrible season in the league.”
