West Ham have finally delivered fans a win which could be a kickstart in the clubs fightback in our fight against relegation from the Premier League.

Yes, this was a win against a Championship side, in the FA Cup, which we needed to take to extra time to get it done – but a win is a win, and it cannot be estimated what a win can do for confidence.

Spurs is up next and it presents West Ham the opportunity to take advantage of a rival who is also in turmoil, which if we can grab a win it could seriously lift the belief in east London.

The West Ham Way Podcast duo Dave Walker and ExWHUEmployee have given their thoughts on the result against QPR, with both hoping that win can be a starting point in our fight to survive.

“It wasn’t the best performance but for me it’s all about the win,” stated Walker. “Firstly to progress in the competition but secondly to boost confidence going into the next game which is what we desperately need.”

Ex also shared Walkers view that a win is the most important thing, whilst highlighting a couple of performances which could also prove to be crucial.

“It wasn’t overly convincing, but a win is a win at the end of the day,” said Ex. “I felt it was deserved though as we were the better side.

“I must say I felt Summerville was excellent and its a huge boost for him, which also feels like very good timing with Spurs up next.

“Taty also got his first goal which could prove to be huge for us. I will mention Hermensen too, although he didn’t have a lot to do, he did well and no doubt needed that.”
