Last week, many praised Summerville for his performance against QPR and now against Spurs, it seems he has enhanced his confidence and used it to great effect

A crucial goal in the beginning, and what could’ve been much more! This is the Summerville we all thought we had our hands on, signing him, what a player he’s proved to be in these crucial times, and yesterday he became the star outlet that we all thought we didn’t have amongst this squad.

One of the most admirable aspects about Summerville is his eagerness not to give up. I, myself, as well as many others, have been at the forefront to criticise Summerville regarding his end-product ability, but in these two recent matches, he’s gone above and beyond to prove otherwise and he’s a fighter, he won’t give up. Evidently shown through his celebration yesterday, he and Nuno have a good relationship and likely have been working hard to find a way to get him to the top level without risking another injury.

A total of eight defensive contributions despite his immense attacking performance, coupled with creating three chances for other players on the field, you quite literally couldn’t have asked for anything more, not to mention he also wasn’t dispossessed once the entire match. Creating chances, defending and scoring!

He certainly can prove to be a star for the Hammers, even more so if he’s able to keep fit. In situations such as these, you do need luck on your side, and you also do need numerous players to have purple-patches, you can’t always rely on one player to perform. Summerville, at the moment, isn’t just performing for himself, he’s also boosting the others around him.

Players such as Taty, Fernandes, Scarles and Pablo all benefited from him being in the right place at the right time, and that’s what differentiates a good player from a great one. Summerville deserves a lot of his praise, and long may it continue!
