From none to all! Nuno still has his eyes on securing more forward even after completing the signings of Taty and Pablo, with West Ham now expected to push on with signing two new wingers.
It’s a mutual understanding between fans that West Ham in recent years haven’t had many attacking options, there’s been moments where we’ve had a surplus of players within a certain position, but attacking options? That’s certainly never seen the light.
West Ham United are now looking to sign Kieber Lamadrid as a left winger option, but it has been said that the Hammers could go back in for Adama Traore, seeing as AFCON has now finished. Fulham initially weren’t keen on selling the Spaniard due to having limited bodies, such as Alex Iwobi away, but now that he has returned, this story could change very quickly.
I personally am a huge fan of Adama Traore and struggle to see why fans can’t see what he can offer, in certain situations, if we need to replace Summerville, or a midfielder, we can bring on Adama for that burst of pace, yes I understand that he may have poor end product, but sometimes, you need a burst of pace and someone who can get you up the field, get the game going again, put the threat in the game when there’s none available.
Going into January, we had Wilson, Bowen and Summerville for our attacking options. In an ideal world, we could have all those mentioned, as well as Pablo, Taty, Kieber Lamadrid and Adama Traore, all for attacking options, now that is squad depth and quality.
We’ve been crying out for attacking depth for years on end, and Nuno has finally pushed the board and encouraged them that this is not only what we need to kick on, but what we require to strive forward for in the future.
The loan deal for Kieber Lamadrid will likely cost around £1 million, going off assumption and at most Adama Traore will cost £5 million, meaning for a small price, we’re adding two more bodies which could provide Nuno a world of opportunity and variety in certain situations for matches, it’s exactly all we could ask for in this given moment.
It’s admirable to see Nuno pushing the board to sign targets and all we can do now is hope that these deals get over the line.
