Despite beating Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham are still in huge danger of relegation.
The whole squad obviously has a huge role to play if we want to stay in the Premier League, but one player who usually steps up that needs to make sure he does again in Tomás Soucek.
We all know Soucek, he’s been here six years now. We know he’s limited on the ball, he’s never going to be able to control a game, but what he can do is change a game, he’s clutch, the number of crucial goals he’s scored for this club is unbelievable.
Soucek has already scored two important goals this season, in two of our four wins under Nuno. He scored the goal to put us 2-1 up against Burnley and the goal to put us 3-1 up against Newcastle.
Not only does he need to step up on the pitch, he has to step up off of it. He’s one of the most experienced players in the squad, certainly the most experienced in a claret and blue shirt.
The team is crying out for leaders, we need every player, but certain players to take more responsibility than other if we’re going to get out of this.
Soucek, along with Wilson, Bowen, Areola, Wan-Bissaka, Kilman, Mavropanos, and some others. All the experienced heads need to step up because a lot of them have been letting us down.
