According to Fichajes, West Ham United are prepared to trigger the £26m release clause for Real Betis winger Pablo Garcia.
The 19-year-old is undoubtedly a very very talented player, he is left-footed but is capable of playing on both the left and right.
Garcia’s biggest skill is his dribbling, his ability to beat a man, use his strength to hold defenders off, his balance and pace make him one of the most scary one on one wingers in Spain.
Another huge strength of his is his set piece ability, his left foot is dangerous from a dead ball. This is something the Hammers could really do with as Freddie Potts really doesn’t seem like the man for the job.
However, since breaking through in the first team he hasn’t turned this quality into any statistics. In 15 LaLiga appearances in his career so far, he is yet to register a goal or assist.
He does have 2 goals and 1 assist in 4 Copa Del Rey matches this season, but they were against lower league teams in the first two rounds .
Pablo Garcia is a very skilful player with bags of potential, and normally I would say this would be a really good signing.
However, this certainly isn’t the player we need this month. We need a player that’s good enough to come in and make an immediate impact, unfortunately Garcia probably wouldn’t do that.
One player who is probably more likely to do that, is someone that Nuno wants, and is significantly cheaper is Adama Traore. I can see a deal being done for the 29-year-old Spaniard from Fulham before the month closes out, rather than the 19-year-old from Real Betis.
