Callum Wilson’s injury time winner over Spurs has opened the door for West Ham to pull off another great escape from relegation.

There are moments that forever live in the memories of fans, moments that can be referred back to when there has been a sudden shift in form & belief.

Strangely and somewhat romantically it was against Spurs when the great escape under Alan Curbishley back in 2007 got underway, albeit it was a loss our rivals then that sparked the revival.

It cannot be underestimated how big and important that goal and moment for West Ham can be, now it’s up to Nuno and the players to carry this momentum and build upon it.

This Saturday our Irons face Sunderland knowing a win takes us just 2 points from safety, albeit temporarily possibly before Nottingham Forest take on Brentford on Sunday.

Time is ticking as we approach the end of January, with wins needed. However back to back victories over QPR and Spurs have given hope that a good run of form could well be set to roll.

Coupled with a positive end to what has been a dis functional transfer window could provide Nuno with what he needs to pull off the Great Escape part 2.
