From being down and out, Summerville has dug deep and shone when the Hammers needed it most and managed to help the Hammers initially have the edge over Spurs, but he’s continued that onwards to Sunderland.
Crysencio Summerville scored the opener against Sunderland in the early kick-off on Saturday, a blistering header into the centre of the goal, past Roef’s as he managed to convert from Bowen’s cross.
It goes to show that despite not being the usual type to win headers, he’s had the confidence to get into those scoring positions and quite literally, throw himself at it and see what happens, which is exactly what the fans desire to see.
In these recent matches, he has also linked up very well with Ollie Scarles, and the pair managed to win a penalty by working together, which ultimately led to our second goal of the day as Bowen converted the penalty we received.
Out of the 21 passes that he made throughout the game, he ended with a 90% success rate, and he also managed to win 7 of the 11 duels that he participated in! Crucial when it matters and he has excelled in the winger role, which, fortunately, throughout he’s managed to keep fit which has been a massive boost to Nuno’s new attacking side.
He had already seemed clinical and a bright shine, but with our newly established top two, it means that Summerville can play more freely, roam around the wing which subsequently leads to more chances being created and goal scoring oportunities arrising, which is exactly what we need.
It’s certainly so no surprise to see why Nuno was interested in taking Summerville at Nottingham Forest, and it’s also not a surprise to see why Champions League regulars, Borussia Dortmund, also held interest in him. He’s a player with great quality and with the bonus of confidence, it almost feels like there’s no stopping the Dutchman.
