Taty Castellanos is earning the love of the West Ham fanbase already with another great performance against Sunderland.

Before Taty joined the Hammers, fans had been crying out for an energetic forward. Seeing as we now have one, it’s certainly no surprise to see Nuno’s side improve.

An emphatic victory for West Ham, along with one of the best performances we’ve seen in a very long time, a first half of excellence and one in which Taty Castellenos played a big part in. From energy in running throughout the midfield to finding himself in the right place at the right time, he was simply superb.

Despite not getting on the scoresheet, he did manage to get an assist to Fernandes’ wonder goal, but he was once again unlucky to not be on the scoresheet, seeing as he got chances, but none managed to wriggle themselves into the back of the net.

The Argentine spoke midweek about his admiration for West Ham and how he grew up watching Carlos Tevez, clearly he’s attempting to be the next Argentine to help the Hammers with the great escape! His performance, as well as many others, helped the Hammers get over the line and secure a vital three points.

He managed 9 defensive contributions whilst playing striker, which ultimately sums up his playing style, wears his heart on his sleeve and chases everyone and anyone down, a brilliant addition to Nuno’s side, you can see why he was desperate to secure his signature. It appears that his performance and energy levels that he demonstrates almost help other players; it helps others elevate their own game and that’s exactly what you need in tough relegation fights.

It would be ludicrous to suggest that he hasn’t had a positive impact on this West Ham side, and without him, we’d be in monumental amounts of trouble. Certainly fair to say that I’m glad we managed to secure his signature before Leeds could’ve snatched him off us.
