It appears that the Hammers will be closing in on a deal for Kinsky with a buy option, and negotiations are ongoing for Adama, but do West Ham need anything else?
The idea of signing Adama Traore is to have bench reinforcements as well as back up in case injuries occur, and to see Nuno pushing for Kinsky doesn’t come as a surprise, given that he admires the goalkeeper and might want him for the future, hence why the Hammers have discussed having a buy option involved within the loan.
If West Ham are to get both of these deals over the line, should we consider signing anyone else? The answer is yes. We are in desperate need of a central defender despite the recent form of Todibo and Mavropanos.
Whilst the Frenchman has excelled under Nuno, Mavropanos has had his fair share of injuries this season and in the event of another one, I don’t think Nuno would be happy having Kilman as his only option, which is exactly the reason why we need another option available to us.
Brighton Loanee, Igor, appears to be out of favour with Nuno and clearly isn’t seen as a viable option to play in the event that an injury would occur.
I suspect that the Hammers might try to terminate Igor’s loan to allow themselves another domestic loan for a defender, or, depending on the price, may decide to outright buy one, but that depends on whether a deal could be agreed in record time… which West Ham don’t have a great track record of.
I truly believe that with the additions of Adama, Kinsky and a central defender in the remainder of the January window, it would put us in a great position to stay up. West Ham are currently one of three teams at the moment to have consecutive Premier League victories and with further additions, it would only bolster our squad and better our chances at staying up.
If there was ever a time to go all out in a transfer window, it’s now because each signing might just help us get over the line. However, that does entirely depend on how quickly we’re able to seal these deals with just six days left of the transfer window.
