According to reports. West Ham United are set to sign Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky on an initial loan.

It was widely reported that Kinsky could be coming to West Ham through an exchange loan deal with Spurs, but further details have suggested this could be more than just an intended 6-month loan.

It was widely regarded amongst West Ham fans that an intended loan swap deal between Hermansen and Kinksy was ‘utterly bizarre’ and ‘one of the weirdest transfers of all time’ – Initially it appeared that it was going to be a straight swap for 6 months, but now it appears that the Hammers might’ve included an option to buy Kinsky after the loan spell is over.

Kinsky is a Goalkeeper that the Hammers were interested in a while ago and it seems that Nuno has taken a liking towards him and would like to perhaps have him for longer than just 6 months, and could view him as the first-choice keeper, hence why he’s included a buy option.

He’s a good goalkeeper, but that’s all that can be said about him. For those who are wondering about how Spurs initially picked him up, it was due to his immense Domestic League and Europa form that he had.

Out of 29 matches in the Czech League and Europa League, he’d managed 14 clean sheets. That was enough to tempt Spurs back in 2024, where since joining, he hasn’t been able to have a consistent run of first team Football, which is likely one of the reasons as to why he’s open to a move away.

One of the problems that arises with this transfer is that if we are to sign Kinsky on an initial loan, it means that we would’ve used up all of our domestic loan slots and are unable to get a centre-back in on loan, which many initially thought would happen, but this move would prevent that from happening.

Despite the loan troubles, Nuno still holds the player in high admiration and perhaps Malick Diouf, who played with Kinsky at Slavia Prague, and Tomas Soucek, a Prague and Czechia legend might help convince him to get the deal over the line, but it’s a question of whether or not he’ll be getting the gametime that he wants.
