Lucas Paquetá is officially a Flamengo player, but will West Ham replace him?

According to West Ham Football on X, club insiders have claimed that the decision whether or not to replace Lucas Paqueta rests with Nuno Espírito Santo.

Not only was Lucas Paquetá a guaranteed starter under Nuno, we have also let Andy Irving, Guido Rodriguez and James Ward-Prowse leave the club.

So, I think we need a midfielder anyway, to seek Paquetá after those and still not bring in a midfielder when we’re in a relegation battle would be insane.

We simply HAVE to bring in a creative midfielder to replace Lucas. It doesn’t have to be as much as we sold Paquetá for.

There is excellent options around Europe for around half of what we sold Paquetá who would be more effective in chance creation than Lucas was, which isn’t hard to do.

The ideal signing would be Romano Schmid from Werder Bremen. The 25-year-old creative monster is said to be available for less than €20m, is the second most creative player in the Bundesliga this season, and has been linked previously.

That deal is almost too good to be true, we can’t pass up an opportunity like this, but most of all. we can’t afford to not replace him at all.

If we don’t replace him, one injury to Mateus Fernandes and we will be guaranteed relegation to the Championship.

Singing someone like Jesse Lingard on a free isn’t enough, that would be a bonus, almost like a wild card signing. We need to buy the realistic attacking midfielder that Nuno wants, or someone of a similar level, or we are playing with fire.
