West Ham travel to Craven Cottage this evening to face an in-form Fulham team, however, it’s a game the Hammers really need to win.
After a poor, but not embarrassing 5-2 defeat to Liverpool at the weekend, we got lucky that both Spurs and Nottingham Forest also lost.
With Forest playing Manchester City at the same time as we play Fulham, we have a real chance of getting out of the relegation zone tonight.
We could also move within a point of Tottenham Hotpsur if we beat Fulham and they lose to Crystal Palace tomorrow, which is very very possible.
This is the perfect opportunity for us to make the table look so much better and give us a better chance of remaining in the Premier League.
We simply need to do our job, we need to do everything we can to win and hope the other results go in our favour once again
However, Marco Silva’s Fulham will more than stand in the way. They sit tenth in the Premier League, pushing for European places and have won all of their last three matches, two in the Premier League.
Harry Wilson, Raul Jimenez have been absolutely immense for the Cottagers this season. In fact, it was those two that linked up to give them a 1-0 win over us at the London Stadium in the return fixture.
Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Sander Berge have also been in excellent form as of late. They have a lot of talented players, not even mentioning new signing Oscar Bobb, a £27m signing from Manchester City.
Fulham have a very good team, but you really can’t write the Hammers off in this one. Despite remaining in the relegation zone, we have been in really good form recently under Nuno and I think tonight has the makings of a great game.
Hopefully the great game ends great for the Hammers because the table could look so much better for us going into two extremely difficult matches against City and Villa.
