After heavy defeat to Liverpool, Nuno Espírito Santo makes two changes to the team to face Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The Portuguese manager has made two changes to the starting XI, bringing in Callum Wilson for Songoutou Magassa and Jean-Clair Todibo for Konstantinos Mavropanos.
This means a shift in formation from a 4-5-1 back to a 4-4-2 that has worked so well when we’ve used it so far this season.
Starting XI vs Fulham: Hermansen; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo. Disasi, Diouf; Bowen, Fernandes, Soucek, Summerville; Castellanos. Wilson.
I think this is a wise decision from Nuno Espírito Santo, this is a must win match for us, a win could take us out of the relegation zone and above Nottingham Forest as long as they lost to Manchester City.
It’s a shame Pablo Felipe isn’t fit enough to return to the starting lineup yet, he would have been in for Callum Wilson. However, the fact we’ve made the shift to a more attacking side from the one that lost to Liverpool is smart.
As for the defence, I think it’s harsh to drop Mavropanos who’s been very improved as of late. However, the decision to bring in Todibo could be smart, he was even better before seeing red against Chelsea. Also, he could form a great partnership with fellow Frenchman Axel Disasi.
Overall, I think Nuno has got the team right. This eleven players is more than capable of beating a Harry Wilson-less Fulham side.
