West Ham United have been given a boost ahead of their remaining nine matches, with Pablo set to return soon.

The Hammers have been missing Pablo with a great deal and his absence has even forced Nuno and his staff to alternate tactics in certain games, just to attempt to suit the other players.

The tactic that Nuno and Paco formulated together revolved around having Pablo and Taty; without the pair, the tactic wasn’t as viable, as Callum Wilson had to step into the role of Pablo, which entirely goes against the Englishman’s normal play style.

Against Fulham, the Hammers decided to go back to the 4-4-2 without Pablo, but perhaps with the intention to get the team up to speed, anticipating his imminent return as the Brazilian has returned to training Nuno has confirmed. Without his presence, West Ham mustered up the ability to play Wilson, though the Englishman’s impact was minimal across his time on the pitch, before being hooked off.

The most crucial aspect about Pablo is his pure stamina and his unique energy levels, similar to Taty. The Argentine loves to chase down defenders and midfielders, heckling them for the ball, whereas Pablo is happy to run back and forth, dropping to the deep midfield before working his way up the pitch once again. The combination of the South American internationals up front gave us a serious attacking edge over other sides, and with the Brazilian’s return, Hammers fans can hope a further threatening attack could also come alive.

West Ham United will have to tread lightly with Pablo’s return as the Brazilian has had a recurring injury problem, but with the correct management, as well as a lengthy international break, it could put Nuno’s side in a further fighting position for the backend of the 2025/26 season.
